The Old Dog Barks

Donald A. Wollheim, a founding member of the Futurians, was credited with organizing the first science fiction convention in 1936. He considered himself a “fair to middling” author, a judgment I agree with, though I did enjoy a number of his juveniles, especially “The Secret of Saturn’s Rings.” His greater claim to fame is that of an editor and puplisher.
